A heavy cold put paid to my plans for “doing the Northern Shop Hop” over the weekend.  It didn’t seem right to inflict my nasty germs on undeserving members of the public nor on the wonderful women in the stores who worked so hard to make the Northern Shop Hop the success it  clearly was.

Beautiful quilts to make were offered to registrants to choose from, many of the stores had demonstrations happening and samples around their stores of upcoming projects and classes, there was an opportunity to collect cute pins as a momento of the fun and the shops were busy and buzzy with groups of enthusiastic quilters treating themselves to a day out.

Apparently there were also scones. scones

Most of the stores I have spoken to say they will do it again.  The hard work and long hours were worth it they say.  Hopefully the flow on effect will be the re-inspiration of the many quilters who attended the Shop Hop and that can only be a good thing.
